Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking an experienced estimator with senior leadership capabilities to drive takeoffs, pricing, and bid strategy for complex civil projects. You will leverage HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and SharePoint to develop competitive bids while coordinating with the supply chain and subcontractors.

You will review plans and specs, mentor team members, and ensure pricing reflects site conditions, risk, and regional cost data.

Qualifications

• Construction experience required with 10 years total.
• Supervisory/management experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• HCSS, Agtek and Primavera P6 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visits project site to understand site conditions/restrictions.
• Reviews the work of Estimators.
• Interprets scopes of work from plans and specifications.
• Assesses scopes to establish pricing for project activities.
• Creates a preliminary schedule using scheduling software.
• Manages the bid team for takeoff and pricing.
• Assists in preparing bid forms, conceptual estimates, proposals.
• Mentors, coaches, and provides feedback to others.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain to price resources.
• Communicates with DOTs, subcontractors, and vendors to meet goals.
• Researches historical costs and new bidding opportunities.

Description

• Visits project site to understand site conditions/restrictions.
• Reviews the work of Estimators.
• Utilizes project plans and specifications to interpret and decipher scopes of work.
• Assesses scopes of work to compile and establish pricing to cover project-related work activities using conventional methods and software.
• Creates a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications utilizing scheduling software.
• Manages the bid team for takeoff and pricing of project or scope of work.
• Assists in preparing bid form, conceptual estimates and negotiated proposals.
• Mentors, coaches and provides feedback to others.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain, to price the resources needed for project.
• Actively communicates with DOTs, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projectsA' minority goals are being met.
• Researches historical and regional costs for estimating a bid.
• Researches new bidding opportunities and newly advertised projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree
