Job summary

Akridge is seeking a Corporate Event Manager to lead planning and execution of client and building events at the Homer Building in Washington, DC. You will manage event operations, budgets, contracts, and invoicing while delivering attentive service to clients.

Reporting to Property Management, you will serve as a brand ambassador for the building and coordinate with vendors, leasing teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful events and seamless operations.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience managing corporate events or hospitality operations.
• Ability to set up and troubleshoot AV/IT equipment in event spaces.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client-facing skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to move around the property and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for client events from initial request to follow-up.
• Maintain the master calendar for all event spaces and identify conflicts before reservations.
• Administer event use agreements and coordinate Conference Center terms with Property Management.
• Confirm event scope, attendance, layouts, timelines, catering, AV needs, and parking.
• Schedule events per building priorities and safety requirements.
• Coordinate outside vendors and ensure COIs, licenses, and plans are complete.
• Coordinate setup/breakdown with porter, Engineering, Security, and cleaning teams.
• Conduct walkthroughs, room setups, and quality checks before client arrival.
• Provide onsite support and resolve operational issues with building teams.
• Inspect spaces post-event and coordinate cleaning and storage.
• Maintain digital event files, floor plans, and vendor records.
