Metra is seeking a Counsel to support the Corporate/Regulatory team within the Law Department. You will review contracts, advise leadership, and manage complex compliance matters related to public transportation. Flexibility to travel within and outside Metra’s region may be required.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from an ABA-approved school, is licensed in Illinois, and has at least two years of post‑bar experience, with strong research and drafting skills.

Formación

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed attorney in good standing in Illinois.
• Minimum two years of practicing attorney experience.
• Strong research, drafting, and investigative skills.
• Experience with contracts, procurement, and regulatory matters is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Support Corporate/Regulatory in the Law Department with compliance, contracts, employment, litigation, real estate, risk, or general corporate matters.
• Provide concise legal research, analyses, and counsel to senior leadership.
• Draft and review legal documents; assist in negotiations and settlements.
• Represent agency in administrative proceedings and in court when needed.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain confidentiality.
