JOB SUMMARY: The Corporate Counsel leads strategic and tactical legal initiatives across the organization. They advise senior management on company strategies and their execution, oversee the legal department, and engage and manage outside counsel. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel plays a key role in complex business transactions, including the negotiation of high-value contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide legal information to members on a case by case.
· Other Duties as Assigned by the President/CEO.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
· Admitted to practice law in Texas.
· Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience practicing law in areas of real estate, association management, labor and employment, contracts, public policy and government affairs.
· Excellent writing skills – particularly for general audiences.
· Experience with local, state, or national government.
· Trade association/nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
· Proven track record of developing relationships with stakeholders both internal and external.
· Experience working with volunteers.
· Comfortable with public speaking and the ability to condense complex ideas.
· Customer centric mindset.
· Energetic with acute attention to details.
