Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Corporate Counsel to work within the Anywhere Brands Legal Department. Anywhere Brands includes affiliated franchised brands and shared services functions such as franchise sales, central operations, contract administration, finance, and cross-brand marketing. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Madison, NJ, and is remote.

The Corporate Counsel will review, draft, negotiate, and advise on franchise sales and renewals, agreements, product development, marketing, vendor contracts, disputes, and compliance. The role involves collaboration with departments like Franchise Sales, Contract Administration, Finance, HR, and Compliance, as well as interfacing with Litigation, IT, IP, and Employment Law teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate franchise agreements and related documents to support business growth and retention
• Negotiate vendor contracts, preferably with SaaS and IT experience
• Review marketing materials for legal compliance
• Advise on applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Guide business clients on risk mitigation and success strategies
• Partner on critical initiatives and proactively identify issues
• Lead process improvements and uphold the company's best interests

Minimum Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• 5-8 years of legal experience
• Franchise law experience preferred
• In-house legal experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Understanding of franchise laws and regulations
• Supportive, ethical, and dedicated attitude
