Job summary

Unity Search Group partners with a fast-growing Retail/Distribution company in the Irving/Las Colinas area to recruit a Corporate Controller. The role reports to the President and is based at the corporate headquarters, with responsibility for all accounting and finance functions.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience, some exposure to inventory, and strong leadership to mentor an Assistant Controller.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting/finance.
• Exposure to inventory in Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail or Construction.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Produce complete and accurate financial statements.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions: GL, AP, AR, inventory, revenue recognition.
• Train and mentor an Assistant Controller.
• Update and continually improve accounting workflows and processes.
• Serve as primary contact for attorneys, CPAs, banks and consultants.
• Direct due diligence for anticipated acquisitions and assist integration.
• Handle various special projects for the President.

Unity Search has partnered with a fast-growing Retail/Distribution company in the Irving/Las Colinas area in its search for Corporate Controller. Reporting directly to the President and based at the corporate headquarters, this person will have ultimate responsibility for all accounting and finance functions of the company including but not limited to:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
• Produce complete and accurate financial statements
• Oversee all day to day accounting functions including: General ledger Accounts payable/receivable Inventory Revenue recognition
• Train and mentor an experienced Assistant Controller who will be this person’s support
• Update and continually improve accounting processes and workflows
• Serve as the primary point of contact for interactions with attorneys, CPAs, banks, and consultants
• For anticipated acquisitions of the company, direct the due diligence process with consultants and assist with the integration of acquired companies
• Various special projects for the President

The ideal candidate for this role would 10+ years of relevant experience with at least some exposure to working with inventory via exposure to the Manufacturing, Distribution, Consumer Products, Retail or Construction industries and good leadership skills.

Compensation for the role will vary with experience but will probably be in the $150K to $175K range + Bonus.
