EMC Insurance Companies in Des Moines is seeking a summer full-time paid internship within the Marketing & Communications department. You will work with the Corporate Communications Manager and colleagues to support campaigns, intranet updates, and content development.

The role emphasizes strong business-style writing, excellent verbal and written communication, and organization. Completion of junior year and a 3.0 GPA are preferred; related coursework is expected.

What to Expect:

Essential Functions

• Summer full-time paid internship working alongside the Corporate Communications Manager and others within the Marketing & Communications department
• Assists with internal and external communications campaigns and projects, including working with business partners to assess needs, drafting communications and working with Marketing & Communications team members as needed to accomplish goals
• Assists with maintenance of our intranet, implementing strategic changes, supporting site admins from our business units, and building/publishing content
• Supports the larger Marketing & Communications department by performing other work as assigned, including project coordination, copywriting and proofreading

Education & Experience

• Major in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
• Completion of junior year
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• Related coursework required
• Experience with business-style writing preferred
