Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years, we have built a high-volume food service, catering, and delivery business. Throughout that time, we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. During the COVID Pandemic, we served NYC City Agencies and non-profit agencies throughout NYC, providing food for the underserved.

Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system by reconnecting consumers and local farmers, aiming for better nutrition, tastier food, social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect our commitment to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most.

What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain daily food service in a corporate office setting, including stocking pantries, plating foods, and replenishing dishes
  • Ensure a food-safe and sanitary environment that meets food handling guidelines
  • Greet, assist, and communicate with guests to ensure a welcoming environment
  • Understand menu options and provide suggestions for guests with dietary restrictions
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, seasoning and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads
  • Read and prepare simple recipes such as waffle or pancake mixes, omelets, oatmeal, etc.
  • Set up and break down dining and buffet areas, ensuring all tableware and chafing dishes are cleaned and sanitized
  • Support loading and unloading food, tableware, and supplies for catering events
  • Store clean equipment properly after each service and manage dishwashing
  • Be willing to work at multiple sites in Manhattan as needed
Who You Are:
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; proof required
  • NYC Food Handler's certificate/card preferred
  • Able to lift over 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Outgoing, considerate, with front and back of house experience in catering or similar settings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized, punctual, problem-solver, and tech-savvy
  • Passionate about local food and nutrition, committed to reaching people with better food
What We Offer:

Benefits include medical insurance, sick leave, paid time off, commuter benefits, and potential bonuses through our Green Shares program.

COVID-19 Consideration:

All employees must be fully vaccinated, including boosters when eligible. Masks are recommended and may be required in accordance with laws.
