Job summary

Jobot in Chicago seeks a Corporate Associate with 3+ years of corporate/transactional experience to join its transactional practice, advising businesses through formation, growth, acquisitions and sales in a collaborative environment.

The firm offers a hybrid schedule, an 1,800-hour billable target with bonuses for excess hours and origination bonuses for developing business, plus strong mentorship and client exposure.

You will partner with senior attorneys and directly interact with clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corporate/transactional experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.
• M&A and general corporate experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with commercial real estate transactions and/or leasing is a plus.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to work directly with clients and take meaningful ownership of matters.
• Collaborative personality and interest in joining a firm for the long term.
• Illinois Bar admission.

Responsibilities

• Advise businesses throughout their lifecycle, from formation to growth, acquisitions and sales.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including real estate, tax and employment for comprehensive transactions.
• Draft, negotiate and finalize sophisticated commercial agreements and documents.
• Develop and manage client relationships, taking ownership of matters and delivering high-quality service.

You’ll work closely with experienced corporate attorneys advising businesses throughout their entire life cycle — from formation and day-to-day operations through growth, acquisitions, sales and succession planning.

The practice works with businesses of all sizes, with a particular focus on closely held and middle‑market companies, and takes a highly collaborative approach across corporate, real estate, employment, tax, litigation and other practice areas.
