OVERVIEW

The Corporate Accounting Supervisor reviews financial information for various entities and is responsible for all month-end close activities. They review adjusting journal entries to the general ledger to ensure financial statements accurately reflect operations for each business unit. The Supervisor works closely with the Manager, Corporate Accounting and Assistant Controller on consolidated financial statements and disclosures. They oversee a team of Corporate Accountants and delegate work accordingly.

JOB DUTIES

• Coordinate team member selection and development, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Review, verify, approve, and submit direct report(s) time records in accordance with Suns Timekeeping Policy.
• Partner with Team Relations on team member counseling and recommend termination when appropriate.
• Conduct performance reviews and recommend compensation adjustments.
• Assist management with addressing issues related to monthly financial results and analyze variances.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts like cash and prepaid expenses; prepare necessary adjusting entries and schedules.
• Review and prepare work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Perform complex multi-entity research and reconciliation of accounting data.
• Verify transaction accuracy in financial statements and prepare adjusting journal entries per business unit.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets.
• Support process improvements and document new policies.
• Coordinate with other departments on accounting matters and resolve related issues.
• Maintain the corporate general ledger and assist in preparing consolidated financial statements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (Required)
• Minimum 6 years of experience with financial statements and general ledger responsibilities
• At least 2 years in both corporate and public accounting environments
• CPA certification
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to follow complex instructions
• Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and practices
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
