Job summary

Lakeside Foods in Manitowoc, WI is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. You will prepare financial statements, close monthly and year-end, perform reconciliations, and support budgeting and forecasting activities to help grow our family-owned company.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and strong Excel and GAAP knowledge. SAP experience is preferred in our ERP environment, and you will collaborate with internal partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with financial statement preparation, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
• Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial performance and prepare variance reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial projection processes.
• Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts and related reporting.
• Assist with audit preparation and annual financial statement reviews.
• Support lease accounting and compliance reporting.
• Prepare property tax filings, business licenses, and governmental reports.
• Support tax compliance activities, including tax schedules and related reporting.
• Collaborate with internal departments, auditors, financial institutions, and external business partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
