Job summary

Selby Jennings in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting across multiple entities. The role offers hybrid flexibility and exposure to a growing portfolio of operating businesses within a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with senior accounting staff, owning journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes, while gaining broader experience beyond a single entity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with accounting ERP systems.
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including accruals and adjustments.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with fixed asset schedules and related journal entries.
• Work across multiple entities and locations within the broader organization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external accounting resources.
• Assist with audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Support management with ad hoc analysis and special projects.

About the Opportunity

A growing private investment firm based in Charlotte is looking to add a Corporate Accountant to its accounting and finance team. The firm manages a growing portfolio of operating businesses and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple entities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant who wants to move beyond a narrow accounting role and gain broader exposure within a growing organization. You'll work closely with senior members of the accounting and finance team while taking ownership of day-to-day accounting across multiple operating entities.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Support month-end and year-end close, including accruals and adjustments

What We’re Looking For

• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Corporate accounting or public accounting experience preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing, fast-paced environment
