Vaco is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of entities. The role offers hands-on experience across accounting functions and exposure to investment-related activities within a lean, high-impact team.

You will work with senior leaders on month-end close, financial reporting, and audits, gaining broad experience across multi-entity operations and internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience; corporate or public accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems and spend management platforms preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and related reporting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and support timely payments and collections.
• Assist with fixed asset schedules and related journal entries.
• Collaborate with teams and external resources to support financial reporting.

Corporate Accountant

Position Overview

The Corporate Accountant will work closely with senior accounting and finance leadership, with a primary focus on the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization's portfolio companies. The position will also provide accounting and reporting support across investment funds, the management company, and other affiliated entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjustments, and related reporting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and support timely payments and collections.
• Assist with maintaining fixed asset schedules and recording related journal entries.
• Partner with teams across the organization and external accounting resources to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and other requested materials.
• Support compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Utilize technology and reporting tools to analyze financial data and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Assist management with ad hoc financial analyses, reporting, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience; corporate or public accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems and spend management platforms preferred.
• Multi-entity and/or multi-location accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
• Demonstrated interest in understanding, evaluating, and improving accounting processes and workflows.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
