Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking candidates for its CORE Rotational Development Program in Magnolia, AR. This program offers an exceptional opportunity to engage in the steel and construction industries while focusing on safety and continuous improvement.

Candidates will apply Lean Manufacturing principles, participate in operational excellence projects, and gain hands-on experience in various manufacturing processes. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, with Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Ability to analyze data and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Analyze process performance using data‑driven methods to identify waste, variability, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead or support process improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives
  • Rotate through the functional areas of our core lines of business (Mills, Fabrication, Recycling, or Emerging Businesses Group such as Construction Services)
  • Complete and present a capstone project at conclusion of program
  • Work in field roles to learn processes and procedures
  • Train on and safely operate mechanical equipment as required
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Gain hands‑on experience with large‑scale manufacturing processes, equipment, material flow, and production systems
What You'll Need
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Operational Excellence initiatives preferred
  • Ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and drive practical, sustainable improvements
  • Ability to work at a variety of CMC facilities; including outside in hot/cold/wet conditions, heights, and unique situations
  • Ability to work within all levels of the organization (shop floor to upper management)
  • High integrity and adherence to CMC’s core values
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and be available upon the needs of the business, including occasional shift work
  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing environment, including shop‑floor operations and production workflows
Your Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma projects (Yellow Belt or higher)
