Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests, support quality control, and maintain accurate documentation. Responsibilities include specimen handling, instrument verification, and data entry with alert value communication to caregivers.

Required are an Associate's degree (or higher) and completion of a medical lab program, MT/MLT or equivalent, and at least one year of internship or lab experience. Sign-on bonus of $5K available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED.
• Associate's degree required
• Completion of a medical lab science program or medical lab technician.
• MT, MLT or equivalent or eligible to take such exam.
• One 1 year of clinical internship or laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special diagnostic test procedures, as well as supporting Quality Control and documentation.
• Verifies functioning of instruments and records test results.
• Performs initial evaluation and handling of incoming specimens: separation, centrifugation, preservation procedures.
• Organizes, labels, and numbers specimens, worksheets and test materials in set-up.
• Monitors and operates test systems to ensure accuracy and precision; runs controls and patient samples.
