Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a full-time day shift at Navicent Health Medical Center - Lab in Macon, GA. The role covers performing analyses, quality control, and reporting with adherence to FDA, CAP, AABB, GDHR, and Joint Commission standards.

Requires MLS/MT/CLS registration and a bachelor's degree with science coursework; core lab experience preferred. Rotating weekends and potential sign-on/relocation eligibility are noted, with a comprehensive total rewards

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and a science-heavy bachelor’s degree.
• Registry: MLS/MT/CLS and board certification; if eligible, pass within 12 months.
• Core Lab experience preferred.
• Work in a fast-paced clinical environment with biohazards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs, reviews, and reports complex lab tests per FDA, CAP, AABB, GDHR and Joint Commission standards.
• Maintains equipment, processes workload efficiently, and ensures QC and troubleshooting.
• Assists with reagent prep, inventory management, and supply restocking to minimize waste.
• Mentors students and trains new staff; participates in call or shift coverage as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and communicates effectively with team members.
