Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Engineer in Richmond, MI, on-site. This role supports automotive manufacturing with quality planning, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will partner with engineering, production and design to eliminate defects and ensure products meet high standards of performance and reliability. Candidate will develop quality plans, perform root cause analysis, and maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of two years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and CAPA methodologies.
• Proficient in data analysis and quality software tools.
• ASQ CQE or Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality plans, inspection procedures and process documentation to ensure product quality.
• Analyze data, identify trends and drive proactive resolutions using SPC, FMEA and control plans.
• Conduct internal, supplier and product audits and resolve quality issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Support validation of new products, equipment and processes through testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote quality best practices.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement quality plans, inspection procedures, and process documentation to ensure consistent product excellence
• Analyze data, identify trends, and drive proactive solutions using tools such as SPC, FMEA, and control plans
• Conduct internal, supplier, and product audits to verify compliance and resolve quality issues
• Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives
• Support validation of new products, equipment, and processes through structured testing and verification
• Partner with cross functional teams and customers to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by driving process enhancements and quality best practices

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum of two years of experience in quality experience within an automotive manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and CAPA methodologies
• Proficiency with data analysis and quality software tools
• ASQ CQE or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for quality and operational excellence
