Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon seeks a Full Service Technician to recondition, reassemble, and test pad mount transformers. You will read work orders, gather parts, perform reconditioning, and conduct quality checks to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work orders to rebuild transformers per customer specs.
• Gather parts and tools; ensure they are in good condition.
• Recondition and reassemble transformers (cleaning, inspecting, replacing gaskets, oil).
• Perform quality checks and basic testing before shipment.
• Operate shop equipment safely and return it after use.
• Use overhead crane and handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Complete safety and compliance training when required.
• Adhere to safety and environmental regulations.

Job description

The Full Service Technician is responsible for reconditioning, reassembly, and testing of pad mount transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Read and follow work order instructions to ensure your rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.
• Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
• Reconditioning and reassembly pad mount transformers will include but is not limited to cleaning and inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing the oil and basic repairs.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.
• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.
• Usage of overhead crane and other material handling equipment may be needed to perform job tasks.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.
• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.

• Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
  
  • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • Standing and walking for long durations
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
