Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Full-Service Technician to recondition, reassemble, and test transformers at our Spokane Valley facility. You will follow work orders, gather parts, and perform cleaning, inspections, gasket replacement, and oil changes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating shop equipment and cranes, ensuring a clean workstation, and meeting production targets. A strong safety record and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
  • OSHA10 certification preferred.
  • Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane) preferred.
  • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail; able to work in a team.
  • Adheres to safety and environmental regulations and training.

  • Operate shop equipment safely and return equipment to proper locations.
  • Use overhead crane and material handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Job description

Brief Description
  • Read and follow work order instructions to ensure your rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.
  • Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
  • Reconditioning and reassembly substation transformers will include but is not limited to cleaning and inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing the oil and basic repairs.
  • Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.
  • Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.
  • Usage of overhead crane and other material handling equipment may be needed to perform job tasks.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

The Full-Service Technician is responsible for reconditioning, reassembly, and testing of transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
    • Standing and walking for long durations
    • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
    • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
    • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
    • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
