Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Full Service Technician to assemble and disassemble voltage regulators and transformers. You will follow work orders, inspect components, and perform repairs while maintaining safety and quality at the workstation.

The role requires reading work orders, using basic testing procedures, and coordinating with the team to meet production goals in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow work orders and instructions to rebuild transformers and regulate equipment according to customer specs.

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and schematics.

• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specifications.
• Gather parts and tools needed for each work order and verify they are in good working condition.
• Reconditioning and reassembly of regulators including cleaning, inspecting components, replacing gaskets, and oil changes.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before shipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on voltage regulators and perform repairs as needed.
• Escalate complex issues such as high voltages or unusual nameplates for further handling.
• Operate shop equipment and overhead crane safely and store tools after use.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation and comply with safety training requirements.
• Possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team; adapt to flexible schedules.

Job description

The Full Service Technician is responsible for assembling and disassembling voltage regulators. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Read and follow work order instructions to ensure your rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.
• Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
• Reconditioning and reassembly of regulators will include but is not limited to cleaning and inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing the oil and basic repairs.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems on voltage regulators and repair as needed.
• Elevate complex issues such as larger voltages, unusual nameplates, and more complex testing issues.
• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.
• Usage of overhead crane and other material handling equipment may be needed to perform job tasks.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred
• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
• Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
• Standing and walking for long durations
• Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
• The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
• Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
