Qualifications

  • Minimum two years recent secretarial/clerical experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staffing schedules and registry assignments with nursing management to support high quality patient care.
  • Provide centralized scheduling support to Nurse Managers; process staffing requests; maintain productivity records; ensure accurate billing to outside agencies/vendors.
  • Ensure adequate nursing staff for all shifts by compiling/maintaining staffing schedules and admissible staffing forms; forecast minimum staffing by acuity; proactively seek coverage before contacting agencies.
  • Make timely, courteous calls to employees/agencies and maintain current roster of nursing personnel and contact information.
  • Schedule and post calendars containing vital information for nursing personnel.
  • Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for service issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain contract nursing staff records and ensure regulatory compliance for licenses/certifications expiration dates.
  • Under guidance of nursing department managers, adjust staffing patterns based on patient acuity.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care from adolescent through geriatric populations and communicate clearly and effectively.

  • This position is responsible for registry assignments and maintaining staffing schedules in conjunction with nursing management in order to assist in the provision of high quality service to patients and staff.
  • Maintains the staffing system according to policies and procedures and as directed. Assists in the development and maintenance of records essential to staffing and regulatory compliance, provides centralized scheduling support to Nurse Managers, receives and processes calls for staffing requests, maintains productivity records, and ensures accurate billing to outside agencies/vendors.
  • Provides adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts through the compilation and maintenance of staffing schedules and staffing forms, refers to established unit staffing patterns and acuity system to forecast minimum staffing requirements for each nursing area, actively seeks coverage before contacting agency employees.
  • Assures that calls to employees/agencies are made in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. Maintains current roster of nursing personnel and contact information.
  • Schedules and posts calendar containing vital information to nursing personnel.
  • Communicates and follows the organizational chain of command for notification of service issues, when appropriate.
  • Maintains contract nursing staff records, assures compliance with regulatory requirements for information such as license/certification expiration dates.
