Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily operations of the Sport Club Program, supporting student organizations, club officers, coaches, and participants. Manage compliance of club registration, athlete eligibility, coach registration, and participant records.
  • Coordinate facility reservations, practice schedules, competitions, tournaments, and special events. Administer club travel, purchasing, adidas orders, and equipment management.
  • Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll. Advise and develop the Sport Club executive boards, club officers, and new sport clubs through officer training, leadership development, and ongoing mentorship.
  • Coordinate President's Meetings, club officer trainings, and Sport Club signature events. Assist with budget planning, purchasing, and fiscal management of the Sport Club Program.

Job Description:

Being a part of Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness at ASU as a Coordinator: Sport Clubs means uniquely engaging in our mission of enhancing ASU and the communities we serve by embracing physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being of self and others as a hallmark of the Sun Devil Experience. Our outcomes are skill building, community building, and healthfulness.

The Program Coordinator: Sport Clubs is responsible for overseeing the 53+ Sport Club teams housed under Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness. This position is responsible for supporting students through mentoring, ongoing training, assessment, and leadership skill development. This position is officed out of the ASU Tempe campus and serves as a member of the university-wide Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness team.

Pay Rate:

$50,000 per year

Essential Duties:
  • Coordinate the daily operations of the Sport Club Program, supporting student organizations, club officers, coaches, and participants. Manage compliance of club registration, athlete eligibility, coach registration, and participant records. Coordinate facility reservations, practice schedules, competitions, tournaments, and special events. Administer club travel, purchasing, adidas orders, and equipment management. Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll. Advise and develop the Sport Club executive boards, club officers, and new sport clubs through officer training, leadership development, and ongoing mentorship. Coordinate President's Meetings, club officer trainings, and Sport Club signature events. Assist with budget planning, purchasing, and fiscal management of the Sport Club Program. Collaborate with campus partners to support facility operations, event management, and student engagement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned in support of Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness. Attend scheduled meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops. Enforce program and facility policies correctly and consistently to ensure a high level of risk management is present in all programs and services. Provide excellent customer service at all times so that all who interact with SDFW programming feel as though they belong. Exhibit outstanding problem-solving skills by addressing unexpected issues with limited supervision. Demonstrate flexibility, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving in a dynamic environment. Position requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability to support events and programs.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Evidence of a master’s degree in Higher Education, in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field Experience supervising and training employees Ability to plan and prepare presentations/training to populations Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments. Experience cultivating a safe environment for student participants and staff
