Job summary

Arizona State University, Downtown Phoenix campus, is seeking an Administrative Operations Specialist 3 Non-Exempt to lead planning and execution of the ASU Olympics Initiative, coordinate with campus units, Athletics, Facilities, Events, Housing, and external partners to drive strategic Olympic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of the initial NOC facility rental initiative, coordinating with ASU units to ensure successful planning, logistics, agreements, and operational support.
  • Coordinate cross-university Olympic initiatives by working with academic and administrative units, Athletics, Facilities, Events, Housing, and external partners to support projects aligned with ASU's Olympic strategy.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships with Olympic organizations, National Olympic Committees, industry, government, and community partners to advance ASU's educational, research, innovation, and community engagement goals.
  • Assist in the development and management of the ASU Olympics Initiative, including project planning, governance, timelines, stakeholder engagement, and tracking progress across strategic workstreams.
  • Collaborate with the President's Office and initiative leadership to identify and advance new Olympic-related opportunities, prepare briefing materials, and support communications that elevate ASU's visibility and impact.
  • Contribute to the long-term implementation of the ASU Olympics Initiative by helping develop programs, events, partnerships, and innovation activities that position ASU as a leading academic and innovation partner before, during, and after the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  • $27.83/hour
Essential Duties:

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with higher education institutions, government agencies, nonprofit
  • Strong project management, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including preparing executive-level presentations and briefing materials.
  • Experience coordinating high-profile events, programs, or initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, international sports organizations, or large-scale global events is desirable.
Working Environment:
  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • There may be travel involved.
Department Statement:

The College of Health Solutions (CHS) is dedicated to translating scientific advances into practical interventions to improve health outcomes through education, research and service. We equip students with the knowledge and skills to influence healthier lifestyle choices; develop creative interventions to improve the health of people and populations; analyze and translate large amounts of health data into solutions; and maximize the technology, science, business and application of diagnostics. CHS research programs encompass basic, discovery science, clinical trials, intervention science and measurement ofhealth outcomes. CHS takes an interdisciplinary approach to address the complex systems that underpin health problems. The current training programs include behavioral health, biomedical diagnostics, biomedical informatics, exercise science, health promotion, health sciences, kinesiology, medical studies, nutrition, population health, science of health care delivery, and speech and hearing science. Our programs are offered at ASU's Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, Polytechnic, West and Lake Havasu campuses, as well as on Mayo Clinic's campus in north Phoenix.
