Reporting to the Associate Director of Peer Education and Learning Innovation and housed within the Office of Active Learning, the Coordinator of Peer Tutoring plays a key role in coordinating and implementing the Peer Tutoring Program. The Peer Tutoring Program is a campus‑wide academic support initiative designed to enhance student success by providing course‑specific, peer‑led academic support across multiple disciplines. The program reinforces active learning within course contexts and extends active learning beyond the classroom. The program supports undergraduate students through structured tutoring services that reinforce course content, promote effective learning strategies, and contribute to student retention and academic achievement. This position facilitates the implementation and operations of the Peer Tutoring program and leads the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of undergraduate Peer Tutors. The Coordinator works closely with campus partners, faculty, and OSSA staff as well as colleagues supporting Peer Learning Assistants and Academic Coaching to manage program logistics, maintain policies and records, support program assessment, and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders. The Coordinator serves as a primary operational point of contact for students, faculty, and campus partners participating in the Peer Tutoring Program and assists in implementing program initiatives designed to strengthen a large‑scale academic support program that enhances student learning, promotes academic success, supports leadership development among undergraduate Peer Tutors, and functions as an integrated component of UGA’s student engagement ecosystem.
