The NCAA is seeking a Coordinator of Championships and Alliances, Operations in Indianapolis to oversee administrative requirements for selected championships and assist with committee administration. You will serve as a liaison for governing bodies and manage championship-related processes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), 1–3 years of athletics event planning, and strong communication and SharePoint skills. Hybrid work arrangement; based in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Administer duties for assigned championships and sport committees; update operations manuals and communications.
  • Assist membership and public inquiries; manage files and tasks in SharePoint.
  • Communicate with administrators, coaches, student-athletes, officials, parents and the public on championship topics.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal staff; support selections and championships processes.
  • Conduct selections, seeding and bracketing following established guidelines; liaise with national governing bodies.
  • Direct and supervise coordinators of officials for sports and championships; perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Job Function: General coordination of the administrative requirements of selected championships and assistance with the administration of other sport committees as needed; as well as project/core service duties as assigned. In addition, serve as liaison for selected governing sports committees and administer their respective championship.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer duties for assigned championships and sport committees, including updating operations manuals, preparing and disseminating communications to committee members, hosts, and membership, act as liaison for Short’s Travel for committee meetings and championships, and all selections and championships support.
  • Administer departmental duties and responsibilities, including assistance to membership and general public pertaining to assigned championships, correspondence to internal and external contacts, and file maintenance and task assignments in SharePoint.
  • Correspond (writing, telephone, videoconference) with administrators, coaches, student-athletes, officials, parents and the general public regarding various topics related to the NCAA championships.
  • Serve as the department’s point person for various vendor relationships and related processes with internal staff, as assigned.
  • Serve as staff liaison for selected governing sports committees and administer their respective championship. In addition, conduct the selection, seeding and bracketing process successfully by following established principles and guidelines.
  • Serve as the Association’s liaison with selected national governing bodies or general sport leader, as assigned.
  • Direct and supervise coordinators of officials for the sports and championships, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in athletics event planning and coordination.
  • Project management experience. Ability to create complex documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint from concept to final production.
  • Extensive experience with SharePoint.
  • Excellent office skills, including accurate typing, word processing experience and ability to operate various office equipment.
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 2 days in the office and 3 days are remote.
