Qualifications

Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator at the New Brunswick campus who will help to support the Medical Administration Department to ensure compliance to applicable laws, regulations, policies and regulatory standards. Medical Staff Coordinators are responsible for overseeing the credentialing and privileging process for members of the Medical Staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in medical services profession and/or healthcare administrative support

Preferred:

  • Maintenance of CPCS certification through National Association of Medical Staff Services
  • Prior working knowledge of MD-Staff database

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Working Shift: Monday Friday
  • Day Shift: 8:00AM-4:30PM
  • Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

  • Working with the Credentialing Verification Organization to ensure complete and accurate credentialing files are sent and received
  • Coordinating the timely approval process through the Medical Staff Committees and Governing Body
  • Assisting with coordination, tracking and monitoring of the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation process ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assisting with clinical privilege development and maintenance; generates queries and reports from credentialing database
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
