Job description

Position: Coordinator, Learning and Development

Organization: National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA)

Location: Preference Alexandria, VA

Reporting Relationship: Vice President, Learning & Development

Website: www.nrmca.org

Position Summary

The Coordinator, Learning and Development provides administrative, operational, and coordination for NRMCA's learning, certification, credentialing, and workforce development programs. The position helps ensure that courses, certification processes, learner records, program materials, and participant communications are accurate, organized, timely, and delivered consistently with established standards.

Working under the direction of the Vice President of Learning and Development and within the established strategy, standards, and priorities, this role supports structured and repeatable course delivery. The Coordinator does not set learning strategy, curriculum standards, or portfolio direction; rather, the position supports the Director and Vice President by keeping program operations, records, materials, and processes reliable and responsive.

This role serves as an operational backbone for the learning and certification functions by coordinating course setup, maintaining certification records, supporting learning systems, routing inquiries, assisting faculty and participants, and helping close the loop after each program. Through accurate execution and strong service, the Coordinator strengthens the participant's experience, protects certification credibility, and supports NRMCA's ability to deliver greater member value through learning and workforce development.

Primary Responsibilities
Certification Administration & Records Management

  • Administer assigned certification processes, including applications, renewals, status tracking, documentation, and related participant communications.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready certification records and support documentation.
  • Support certification workflows, deadlines, exam or assessment coordination, certificate issuance, and post-program closeout activities.
  • Respond to certification inquiries, resolve routine questions, and route technical or policy questions to the Director or Vice President as appropriate.
Course Coordination and Materials Support

Supports the preparation, maintenance, and coordination of course and certification materials so that learning programs are delivered with consistency and accuracy.

  • Assist with updates to course materials, certification programs, participant guides, facilitator materials, forms, templates, and related learning assets as directed by the Vice President and/or Director.
  • Coordinate review schedules, collect feedback, route materials to subject matter experts and faculty, and track outstanding content updates.
  • Maintain the curriculum and content library, including current versions, archived materials, templates, file naming, and document organization.
  • Support consistency between approved program design, published materials, delivery resources, and learner-facing information.
Program Delivery and Logistics Support

Coordinates administrative and logistical details that help courses and certification programs run smoothly before, during, and after each learning event.

  • Support course and certification delivery in coordination with the Meetings department, instructors, faculty, participants, and other NRMCA staff.
  • Coordinate course setup, rosters, participant communications, materials preparation, faculty support, and post-program follow-up.
  • Confirm that required materials, schedules, learner instructions, and delivery resources are prepared and available before each program.
  • Track delivery issues, participant questions, material corrections, and follow-up items so they can be resolved promptly and documented for future improvement.
  • Help minimize administrative errors, inconsistencies, and post-program corrections through careful preparation, documentation, and follow-through.
Learning Systems and Learner Records Management

Maintains learner information, course setup, and program records in the Learning Management System to support accurate reporting and a reliable learner experience.

  • Maintain learner records, course information, enrollment data, completion status, certification status, and related program data within the Learning Management System (LMS) and other designated systems.
  • Set up courses, upload or update learning assets, maintain learner-facing information, and support basic LMS configuration for assigned programs.
  • Support alignment between the LMS, AMS, registration, assessment, and reporting systems as directed by the Director and in coordination with appropriate staff.
  • Provide basic technical assistance to participants using the LMS and route complex system issues to the appropriate internal or external support resource.
