JOB OVERVIEW:
Perform entry-level human resources and administrative duties to support the hotel’s Human Resources programs and philosophies. Serve as an initial point of contact for employee assistance and HR-related matters. The hourly pay rate for this role is $19.48. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary contact for employees regarding employment, policies, procedures, payroll, and benefits. Follow up to ensure resolution and escalate serious issues to supervisors.
- Coordinate employee orientation, training sessions, and morale programs. Participate in presenting orientation materials and review new hire paperwork.
- Assist with communicating and administering employee benefits, distributing information and forms.
- Support recruitment activities including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, processing background checks, and maintaining job posting sites.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations, including data analysis, creating spreadsheets, charts, and graphics, and managing data within software systems.
- Organize workflow, follow up on pending matters, interpret instructions, and communicate with staff or clients. Manage manager’s calendar, expense reports, calls, mail, and filing systems. Maintain a professional work area.
- Assist in planning for purchases of supplies, equipment, and services for office efficiency.
- Support project activities, establish timelines, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain and update employee records and files, including personnel forms, leave records, and OSHA logs.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with departments including Hotel Management, HR, and Legal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years' experience in HR or administrative support. Some college preferred. Fluent in English; other languages a plus.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand, move around, handle objects, and use a keyboard.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; ADP/Timesaver experience preferred.
- Typing speed of at least 45 WPM.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic math skills, including percentages and variances.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, or holidays if needed.
