Richmond Raceway is seeking an Event Operations Coordinator to lead planning, coordination, and execution of race weekends and non-race events. You will partner with Event Operations leadership, internal departments, contractors, and vendors to coordinate logistics, facility readiness, and operational support.
The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during race weekends.
Founded in 1946, Richmond Raceway is America’s Premier Short Track. The venue annually hosts a NASCAR race weekend on the iconic ¾-mile D-shaped oval. Richmond Raceway is a regional leader for events including sports, live music, and consumer trade shows. The Richmond Raceway Complex’s 1,100 plus acre multipurpose facility hosts more than 200 live events over 280 event days annually, including concerts with top national recording artists at Virginia Credit Union LIVE!, the region’s only covered amphitheater.
The Event Operations Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of event operations to ensure the successful delivery of race weekends and non-race events. This position partners closely with Event Operations leadership, internal departments, contractors, and vendors to coordinate event logistics, facility readiness, and operational support.
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must possess valid driver’s license in good standing and meet clean driving record criteria. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage unexpected situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard business software. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, contractors, vendors, clients, and facility users. Experience in event operations, venue management, facilities, or sports and entertainment operations is preferred.
This position requires a flexible schedule based on business and event needs. Hours will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during race weekends and special events. Candidates must be willing to work the non‑traditional schedules common within the sports and entertainment industry.
