Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services in Chicago, IL is seeking a Cook Supervisor to oversee meal production, prepare service documents, ensure sanitation and safety standards, and train inmate workers. You will maintain inventories and coordinate with the kitchen team to deliver meals on schedule.

What You’ll Do

As a Cook Supervisor, you will:

• Prepares the production/service documents for each meal. Copies next week's sheets as well as production/service record, service plan, tray assessment sheet, pre-preparation sheet, restricted diet invoice, daily sanitation record, and meal delivery records.
• Recipes are extended to the facility population requirements.
• Fills out the pre-preparation and inventory pull sheets before each meal.
• Carries out the orientation and training program for inmate workers.
• Adheres to the sanitation and safety program.
• Demonstrates good communication and human relation skills.
• Supports Youth Services mission, Seven Key Principles, goals, and objectives and follows policies on professional expectations, code of conduct and other practices and procedures.
• Maintains Safety & Security of clients & facility.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned
