Job summary

Abraxas Youth and Family Services in Chicago, IL is seeking a Direct Support Technician for a full-time position paying $19.50 per hour. DailyPay available and paid training provided.

You will monitor clients in a substance abuse treatment program, support therapeutic goals, coordinate transportation, and help plan recreational activities. No experience required for many positions; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 6 months of training or equivalent knowledge preferred.
• Previous work experience with the program population in residential or outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring, observing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program.
• Providing motivational and educational support to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals.
• Coordinating client transportation and planning recreational events.
• Supporting treatment plans by reporting observations and contributing to decisions on therapy, discipline, and privileges.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Technician, you are responsible for:

• Monitoring, observing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program
• Providing motivational and educational support and guidance to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals
• Scheduling and coordinating client transportation and assisting with planning client recreational events
• Supporting treatment plans by reporting client observations and contributing to decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privileges
• Other duties as assigned
