Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a patient-focused food service worker to deliver meals to patients and customers, following recipes and diet guidelines.

You will operate cooking equipment safely, portion foods per department standards, and maintain sanitation and HACCP records. Registry/PRN will fill shifts as needed in Nutrition Services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Sanitation certificate required.

• Follows recipes, preparation instructions, and diet requirements.

Position Summary

Responsible for the delivery of food and services to patients and customers. Follows all cooking assignments maintaining a sanitary and safe working area at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows sanitation guidelines
• Follows recipes and preparation instructions
• Accurately and efficiently uses cooking equipment
• Knowledgeable of basic diet
• Properly portions all food and ingredients per department standards
• Prepares food to accurate consistency per diet requirements
• Preps food items for current use and next day
• Follows production sheets and records all related HACCP documentation
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct

Required Qualifications

• Education and Training: High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
• Sanitation Certificate required
