You will be part of an experienced, dedicated team that values communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

A cook and dietary aide prepares delicious, nourishing, and well-balanced meals to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of each guest. Specifically, the cook:

• Follows standardized recipes

• Prepares foods according to menu cycles developed by registered dietitians

• Cooks or prepares appetizing, well-presented, and nutritionally adequate meals at proper temperatures and within designated timeframes

• Uses food supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste

• Prepares food alternatives to accommodate guest preferences and meal refusals

• Supervises culinary staff regarding food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning

In the absence of the chef or dietary manager, the cook supervises culinary staff.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One year of experience as a cook or dietary aide in an institutional food service setting preferred
