Job summary

Vitality Living is seeking a Cook for our Frederica Community to prepare nutritious, visually appealing meals that align with approved menus. You will follow procedures for labeling, dating, and proper storage while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Onboarding and regular training are provided, and the role supports residents with high-quality dining experiences. This PRN position offers flexibility and opportunities to belong to a vibrant team.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Food safety and sanitation knowledge.
• Ability to follow menus and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to menus.
• Adhere to proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals according to cleaning schedule, including prep and service areas, pots and pans, surfaces, walls and floors.
• Attend onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

• Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team member meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef

Join Us Today If You Meet The Following Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Have two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations
• Understand food safety procedures (e.g. temperature safety), sanitation of equipment measures, and storage techniques
• Meet state of provincial health-related requirements
