Job summary

Vitality Living is seeking a Cook for our Windermere community in Florida. You will contribute to nourishing meals, following menus and production records, and maintaining safe, clean kitchen practices.

The role requires basic English communication, at least two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking, and compliance with food safety and health regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handlers permit and any required state regulations.
• Understand food safety procedures and proper storage techniques.
• Meet state health-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to menus.
• Adhere to procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals according to schedule, including prep and service areas, pots and pans, surfaces, walls and floors.
• Attend onboarding, annual training, in-services, and team meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

As a Vitality Living Cook, you will impact lives by:

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef

• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations
• Understand food safety procedures (e.g. temperature safety), sanitation of equipment measures, and storage techniques
• Meet state of provincial health-related requirements
