Job summary

Preston House in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated Cook for a part-time role. You will prepare appetizing, appealing meals and support a friendly dining team to create a welcoming resident experience.

Applicants should have a ServSafe certificate or willingness to obtain one, a high school diploma, and relevant kitchen experience; CPR/First Aid are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain one.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• At least 1 year of food prep experience with full menu items and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16+ in NC (18+ for power-driven machines).
• 3 years' experience in healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Able to work in resident-centered environment and promote teamwork.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
