Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Cook to support patient meals and cafeteria services. This role prepares wholesome quality foods to patients and cafeteria meals, following established recipes and standards.

Candidates should have strong cooking skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, prior cooking experience, good communication, and basic computer skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Prior cooking /culinary experience.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and adhere to a recipe.
• Learns quickly and adapts to changing patient needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in cooking/culinary in a high volume, full service kitchen setting.
