Job summary

Sonida Senior Living's Waterford at College Station is seeking a dedicated Culinary Services Cook to join our assisted living dining team. You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents in a clean, organized setting, ensuring safety and high standards of service.

You will assist the Culinary Services Director, manage assigned shifts, supervise lightweight tasks, and help maintain a warm, welcoming dining room while adhering to sanitation guidelines and state requirements.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal prep for large groups.
• Experience coordinating tasks and communicating effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized Dining Services department.
• Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintain dining standards including service, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean work areas after preparation and service; clean pots and equipment.
• Ensure leftovers are labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
