Job summary

This Cook position at Northern Nevada Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is a full-time role with an evening shift. The cook will prepare patient meals, staff, and visitors’ meals under supervision, following approved recipes.

You will determine food quantities from menus, monitor supplies, and handle dish duties. Qualifications include 1–3 years related experience, a high school diploma, and ServSafe certification preferred within 6 months.

Qualifications

• One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
• Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and communicates needs to Director/Supervisor.
• Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and appearance standards with garnishes when appropriate.

Job Summary

This Cook position is fulltimet time, offers full benefits and a convenient evening shift schedule. This dynamic individual will be under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
• Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery.
• Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate
