Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at Gracedale Nursing Home to prepare, portion, cook and present meals across all shifts. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, ensure food safety, and uphold Sodexo’s culinary standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years experience, and the ability to read recipes and follow instructions. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods; full-time with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold foods to Sodexo’s standards.
• Follow recipes and product directions for menu items.
• Estimate production requirements and requisition supplies/equipment.
• Stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Maintain safety and sanitation and keep a clean workstation.
