Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore's Our Daily Bread program is seeking a Cook to prepare daily meals and large batches following standardized recipes and safety rules. The role involves coordinating kitchen operations and directing staff and volunteers to ensure timely service.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of cooking experience, ServSafe Food Handler certification, and a commitment to safe food handling and nutrition while working in a fast-paced, community kitchen.

Qualifications

• Patience and composure when working with children and parents
• Uphold food safety requirements and standards at all times
• Basic computer and MS Office proficiency (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive)

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with health regulations and proper handling throughout the service cycle
• Prepares food safely and maintains proper procedures, reporting violations
• Receives and stores food donations with accurate inventory documentation
• Plans menus within dietary guidelines and budget constraints
• Trains kitchen workers and monitors performance per guidelines
• Maintains sanitary conditions and cleans equipment and areas
• Maintains inventory levels and reports shortages
• Operates daily kitchen operations efficiently
• Performs other duties as assigned
