Job summary

Fountain Inn Post Acute in Fountain Inn, SC is hiring a Cook to prepare and serve meals in a 66-bed skilled nursing facility. You’ll maintain a clean, safe kitchen and lead in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
• Understanding of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification.
• Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.
• Friendly, professional demeanor.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Compassion for an underserved population.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and special diets, including modified textures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards.
• Monitor and record food temperatures.
• Assist with meal service and ensure appealing presentation.
• Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules.
• Clean kitchen equipment, workspaces, and serving carts.
• Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments.
• Report resident concerns to leadership as needed.
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
