Job summary

Fountain Inn Post Acute, a 66-bed skilled nursing facility in Fountain Inn, SC, is hiring a Cook to prepare and serve meals in a clean, safe kitchen. You will support dietary staff and follow menus and dietary guidelines to ensure quality meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
• Understanding of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification.
• Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.
• Friendly, professional demeanor.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Compassion for an underserved population.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines
• Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and special diets, including modified textures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards
• Monitor and record food temperatures
• Assist with meal service and ensure appealing presentation
• Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules
• Clean kitchen equipment, workspaces, and serving carts
• Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments
• Report resident concerns to leadership as needed
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor
