Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Cook to prepare a variety of foods in a fast-paced environment. You will follow recipes for soups, meats, vegetables and desserts while communicating with the manager and servers about ticket times and potential issues.

The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience in a casual dining setting, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and strong adherence to HACCP food-safety standards. This is a non-exempt, on-site position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a high-volume casual dining environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to read, understand instructions and communicate with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and cooking directions for items such as soups, meats, vegetables and desserts.
• Plan production requirements, estimate food needs and requisition supplies.
• Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment; practice food safety and sanitation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment and assist with stock rotation and temperature checks.
