HMSHost is hiring a Cook in New York to prepare cooked foods and support all station functions such as Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and eggs, while communicating ticket times to the manager on duty and servers to ensure high quality service in a fast-paced environment.

This is a non-exempt, on-site position requiring safety awareness and HACCP adherence. Training and growth opportunities are offered in a collaborative team setting at HMSHost.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Requires a minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience; high-volume casual dining preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares a variety of items (soups, meats, vegetables, desserts).
• Estimates food requirements and keeps production records.
• Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment; respects HACCP standards.
• Operates kitchen equipment; measures and mixes ingredients; handles fruits/vegetables.
• Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks product temperatures.
