Job summary

Loews Miami Beach Hotel is seeking a cook to join our culinary team in South Beach. You will prepare and plate menu items following recipes, ensure quality, and maintain kitchen hygiene across shifts.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of cooking experience in a high-volume setting. We offer health benefits, training opportunities, and team member discounts to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year cooking experience in upscale, high-volume hotel or restaurant.
• Thorough knowledge of Food Service Sanitation Standards.
• Thorough knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and its use.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and organizes work area with all necessary supplies and equipment.
• Receives, inspects, and rotates all food products to ensure freshness.
• Prepares and stores raw food products properly.
• Follows established recipes in preparation and cooking of menu items.
• Adheres to portion control guidelines and minimizes waste.
• Plates foods according to presentation guidelines.
• Monitors finishing products to ensure timely service and notifies supervisor of delays.
• Ensures quality and timely service; follows Government Food Sanitation Standards.
• Monitors temperatures, sanitizes surfaces, and cleans as required.
