Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a Cook III to join our skilled culinary team. You will direct and oversee your designated station, ensuring quality and efficiency in preparation across multiple techniques.

This role offers exposure to diverse kitchen areas and leadership opportunities, with a focus on teamwork and training. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of line and fine dining experience and a culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of line and fine dining experience required.
• Flexibility to work any days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Able to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee designated station(s) and ensure quality of prepared dishes.
• Prepare items across braising, smoking, grilling, broiling, blanching, sautéing and other techniques.
• Assist production and support fellow culinary colleagues as needed.
• Support training needs for new hires and orient associates to standard practices.
• Collaborate with Chef de Cuisine and Supervisors to back culinary staff at all levels.

The Cook III will direct and oversee their designated station/s, check quality of finished food products, utilize proper knife skills, and will ensure efficient preparation methods and procedures through ultimate ownership. This Cook will actively handle the preparation of various food items by braising, smoking, grilling, broiling, blanching, sautéing, in addition to other cooking techniques for items relative to their station & specific department, as well as assist others in production as needed. Will have the opportunity to be exposed to different areas of the kitchens, such as Garde Manger, Pastry, Banquets and Restaurant. This is an advantageous opportunity if you desire to pursue leadership roles in the culinary profession.

Additional responsibilities include

• Assisting with daily specials
• Ensuring the proper amount for needed food preparation
• Receiving products from the storeroom & rotating appropriately
• Utilizing the proper storage proceduresSupporting training needs for new hires
• Familiarizing new associates of standard practices
• Assist Chef de Cuisine & Supervisors in supporting fellow culinary colleagues at all cook level positions
