Horseshoe Casino Hammond is hiring a cook to prepare sauces, gravies, and other complex foods and oversee kitchen activities. You will ensure quality, safety, and cleanliness while managing cooking stations and staff.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in food prep, flexibility for holidays and weekends, and must pass a Food Service Sanitation course. This role supports various outlets within the casino and contributes to a fast-paced dining experience.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient in English verbal and written.
• Equivalent to a high school education with thorough knowledge of cooking techniques.
• Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• 4–5 years experience in food preparation is preferred.
• Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, if applicable.

Responsabilidades

• Check and ensure adequate supply of foods and seasonings.
• Check that food is adequately prepared for cooking and serving.
• Prepare sauces, gravies and other foods of medium and higher complexity according to directions.
• Operate various cooking stations and all cooking equipment.
• Recommend adjusting cycles of menus based on food quantities and guest demands.
• Ensure cleanliness of food preparation areas.
• Oversee activities of Cook and provide instruction or guidance as necessary.
• Organize cooking and food storage areas.
• Open assigned outlets in a timely fashion as instructed.
• Follow safety rules and keep work in area clean and orderly.
