Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky's Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY is seeking a self-motivated Cook II to prepare meals in a team setting and uphold sanitary standards. • Ensures equipment and utensils are safe, clean and sanitary.

• Coordinates, prepares, and serves palatable and appetizing meals in a timely basis and in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Reviews menus and production sheets to ensure food is available for meals and snacks.
• Assists the Food Prep Coordinators as needed.
• Ensures scheduled cleaning duties are complete.
• Ensures the equipment and utensils are in a safe, clean and sanitary condition.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, assign and if needed, and supervise staff to lead them to be successful.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.
