CaroMont Health is seeking a culinary professional to oversee food preparation and service for hospital patients and events. The role includes planning menus, leading catering staff, and ensuring quality service. Ideal candidates will have experience in cooking and catering, along with ServSafe certification.
Job Summary: To perform a variety of routine specified duties in a safe and organized manner, including but not limited to preparing food using proper techniques, methods, and seasonings as specified through recipes for hospital patients, personnel, and visitors. Also, serves as a lead worker for the culinary department and collaborates with personnel involved in setting up and distributing patient food trays as necessary. Plans, pre-preps, cooks, and serves a variety of food items for hospital luncheons, special occasion lunches and dinners, and other events. Advises and assigns responsibilities to catering staff for each event. Performs staff cook duties as assigned. Demonstrates the ability to interact courteously and professionally with patients, hospital staff, and the public.
Qualifications: ServSafe Certified or must complete certification within 60 days of hire. Minimum of 1 year of cooking, catering, and banquet experience, or the ability to plan menus and determine food quantities. Ability to plan, prep, and execute food demonstrations or 'real-time' cooking events. Considerable ability to plan, cook, garnish, set up, and serve large functions. Ability to deal tactfully with hospital staff, board members, and executives.
